Hi
This will be quick, I have a test scene that focus'es on my characters audio. I rendered the animation over night at 640 x 480
The animation has my character spinning in a chair, stops then talks to the camera.
I used Premeir to daub the scene.
BUT now what do i do ???
I have exported the animation with the audio as a movie file etc..
Which in turn Loses the sharpness of the animation.
So my question Is: HOW CAN I SAVE MY animation with the audio
in packages like premeir, windows movie maker etc BUT still keep the sharpness of the intial animation ???
Or what package do you all recomend to put together animations with audio any help at all would be great !!!
Thanks alot Andy Gee !! :( :D

What compression codec did you use when creating the movie? Ideally, rendering an uncompressed avi file with sound will yield the sharpest results. Is this for VHS, DVD, or computer playback? If it is for DVD you will need to find the highest quality MPEG-2 settings that will still be compatible with the DVD specification. If it is for VHS, without a special card that will print uncompressed video to tape, you will most likely need to render it to an NTSC DV file. I use Vegas Video 4.0. Like I previously stated, it depends on your final output medium and your available hardware. Check out the Vegas demo. With very few exceptions it spanks premiere till its butt is red!
Good luck,
Troy

whenever you compress a video file you are going to loose quality, I always render my animations as uncompressed frames from Lightwave. When you do edit it in a video package it all depends on the codec that you use. Usually you have tons of options and compression is essentially a black art. Some people specialize in just video compression, you have to play around with a million different settings, then determine what is most important size or quality, usually you can find a happy medium. Just play around with all the different codecs and compression settings until you find one you are pleased with. It also depends on what you are planning on doing with your animation. I usually use the Sorenson3 codec. If you have ever wathced the movie trailors on apple's site I 'think' that they are all encoded in Sorenson3. But there are lots of other good options. I also prefer Vegas if you are looking into video editing software.
