So what will T3 do that the others can't? Also what will T3 do that the other's also do?

Full control over PIP x,y and z?

Soft drop shadow?

Keyframeable PIP?

Moveable keyframeable drop shadow on PIP?

Border on PIP?

Batch capture?

Export EDL....Import EDL?

16:9?

Whatelse am I missing?

It's my feeling that T3 is not going to really break any new ground. At least not with the new features that have been mentioned so far. T3 is basically a refinement of an already great product. It addresses most, if not all of the shortcomings of T2 that users griped to Newtek about. With T3, Toaster users won't have to say "The Toaster is great, but if only it had (fill in the blank) ."

From your list these are things I've seen mentioned by various people.

YEP

Soft drop shadow?
YEP

Keyframeable PIP?
We can already do that.

Moveable keyframeable drop shadow on PIP?
We can already do that.

Border on PIP?
YEP

Batch capture?
YEP

Export EDL....Import EDL?
YEP, I know it can import. Don't know about export.

16:9?
We can already do that.

Batch Capture should be very cool because we can capture in an off-line format and capture tons of footage. Then later on we can capture only the parts we used in uncompressed footage.

Ability to save Toaster Edit projects as AVI, instantly! To import into other apps.

Better CG!

Better and more organized Edit Properties Pannel.

A dealer also said we would have soft edges on PIPs.

This is stuff that I've gathered from all the boards and various posts.

I think the coolest feature Toaster [3] will have that no one else has is the ability to live switch DV cameras without a SX-8. Two firewire cards, (each with three ports), in the same computer and you can now switch six DV cameras!! Complete with Proc Amps settings and six different audio feeds! (One from each camera mic.) No one else can do that with their video editor. My guess is the requirement will be to have enough horsepower to decode/encode three streams of DV. (A P-IV with 3.0Ghz processor should do the job quite nicely.) Yeah for Moore's law.

Can someone (if they haven't already - Chuck/Paul) put together a complete detailed list of changes as it stand right now, via "release notes" style doc. The suspense and speculation is killing me...
