Roughing Up A Object

Dear All

I have a triangle object which I want to give a really rough edge to, but only on 2 sides keeping the 3rd side flat, is there a way to really rough up an object and have complete control over how rough it is and where abouts the roughness should be on the object.

I tried to use to Jitter tool but it goes mad and does it on all 3 sides.

You need to add more details to the side you want to "roughen up" You could try going into modeler and subdividing your object a few times, then select only the points of the area you want to roughen up, before doing your jitter. You might want to rotate your object so the "rough" side is facing up and confine your jitter only to one axis like Y.

Another method would be to set that side to have a different texture and use bump mapping.
