Shockwave 3d appear to be able to support reflection maps but they don't seem to get exported from LW?

Anyone know what I need to do?

This is how it looks in LW

You have to add the reflection map afterwards with lingo in director. If you use 3DPI in director you can find it under your surface properties.

Maybe I'm not understanding. I didn't have to use any Lingo to add a reflection map. I added the map in Surface Editor, set reflection to 100%, and exported the file. Here is a quick and dirty test:

Are you looking for something different from this?

thats odd... I've always had to add it afterwards in director..
does it still work if the reflection is less than 100%?

I just tried the same thing with the reflection set to 50% in the surface editor. It worked, except I don't see any difference in the surface (50% and 100% look the same).

I'm using Lightwave 7.5c on a Mac.

holy crap.. I just figured out whats going on..

I was adding the reflection image in the "enviroment" tab like I normaly do for rendering, (Im assuming thats where Barnaby Gunning was adding his as well), well I just tried adding it on the reflection texture tab and bamm. I almost never place a texture in there as it reflects nothing on the surface, i usually just use gradients for incedence effects.

Thanks Whit,

I enjoyed your log cabin virtual tour.

... and there I was thinking that putting a map in the reflection channel would just change its reflectivity...

am now very confused... but happy... this is much easier than twiddling with lingo...

I'll post the url of the stuff I'm working on when its presentable (next week) (hopefully)

thanks Noclar & Whit
