Processor recommendations

We have a dual Athlon MP 1800+ processor machine with 1 GB Ram. It is on an Escalade Contoller card, with 4 WD 120MB Hard Drives as a volume set, no raid, for performance. These are the Enterprise version with 8MB cache. We are using a Millenium card, cannot remember which version off the top of my head, but it is said to be 100% compatible with the Toaster 2. Has anyone had problems using Athlon vs. Intel Dual P4 or Xeon's.
I really do not want to spend more money to make Toaster work on a machine if I do not have too. The machine is running 2k SP3, but can go to XP Pro no problem.

I use a dual athlon without problems - allthough I will upgrade to Dual xeons sooner than I wnat to accomidate the wonderful changes in T3.
What problems are you having?

I remember hearing something about WD drives...
if these are ATA/IDE that is.

I believe someone said that you need to allow the
drives to be "cable selected" instead of telling the
system which one gets to be master or slave.

Use "search" through the threads on this,
I'm sure that I'd seen it.

BTW: Athlon processors work fine with the Toaster.

What chipset is in the motherboard?
Just curious on this one.
