SpeedEdit 2 issues with old DVEs

Hi all,

I'm editing a 6 minutes presentation (1024x768 res) using SE2. I've installed the old DVEs that came with my VT[2], while reopening the project all the transitions involving these DVEs are wrong (simple fades seem to be ok), they lost the in-out points and cover the full clip. All the clips changed lenght as well and the project is a mess. This happens every time I open the project.

I've installed SE 2.5 to no avail.

I'm attaching an example, I hope this makes some sense.

Oh well, maybe will finish the job in Premiere.

Go into preferences, and there is a setting: In HD projects "replace DVE's with fades".
Can't promise, but I bet if you change that setting you'll be good to go.

I have the same problem! Tried the preference change and no go. Man, I am bummed! Any other thoughts?
Q? Is there anyplace to find DVE's? I am in the middle of a project and now have to explain to the client those fun transitions are no longer part of the project!
This ticks me off to no end!
At least there was an upgrade/bug fix.
