View Full Version : SN not rendering reflection maps

I have LW 10.1 installed on two machines, the local master and a remote render node. I'm managing the render using Smedge. I'm running this on Macs using OS X 10.7.2.

The scene/object tree structure is on a shared drive visible to both machines. I also copied the entire 10.1 configuration folder over to the shared folder so it would be visible to both machines, as well.

When I render a frame directly using my local copy of Layout opening the remote file, the frame renders fine. When I do the same thing using SN via Smedge, everything appears to render except the reflection maps on the objects.

I've tried going over the config stuff but based on my (admittedly limited) understanding I believe the above description of my setup accomplished everything I was supposed to do.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Small update:

The frames rendered by the master machine (the same machine that was used to create the objects/scene) use the reflection map, but the frames from the remote machine do not. Both machines are accessing the same shared drive so far as I can tell. Again, I copied the entire config folder from the master machine to the shared drive and pointed the job at that folder, and I tried setting the permissions for the entire configs folder to 777 to make sure ownership/permissions wasn't an issue.

Still baffled.

Thanks in advance!

Okay, I think I have it fixed. In the end I started over from scratch, and followed the tutorial at this link:

Thus far it looks like both nodes are now seeing the reflection maps.
