Hi John,

Great to see you're back and searching for bugs and issues again.

Mine is a follows. I've still got SE1.5.5 and didn't upgrade since I didn't feel SE2 had addressed my main issues which are....

CGPost

When I create a title in SE I sometimes like to use the drawing tools supplied which means I have to zoom in on the preview screen for various reasons. The problem is that once I've zoomed in, I can't move around the preview screen to see the different parts of it. There just doesn't seem to be any navigation at all.

Can this be fixed?

Also, when using the drawing tools, sometimes I make a mistake and need to edit the nodes of the polygon tool I'm using after I've created the drawing. But I can't. There doesn't seem to be any way to edit your drawing. You either get it right the first time or start all over again.

Can this be fixed?

Again when using the drawing tool, if I create, say, a rectangle using the filled rectangle tool and want to change it's colour, once the colour requester comes up and I've made my choice, the preview of the colour in the requester should update and change. It doesn't and as such the rectangle doesn't. I have to go into the control tree to change it. I just tried this with a crawling title page, but this may extend not only to that but also other titles and drawing tools.

Can this be fixed?

Finally, in the Control Tree, on particularly large projects the keyframe, value boxes and rotation wheel area of some of the selected elements disappear. You have to click on one of the other tabs (i.e. Storyboard, timeline, etc) then click on Contol Tree or collapse an element in the control tree then expand it again to get the information back.

Can this be fixed?

As I say I'm still using SE1.5.5 and don't know if CGPost has been made more stable in SE2 or 2.1, but assuming these issues and more are still prevalent, could tell me when they're likely to be resolved and CGPost finally be usable?

Cheers from a guy who really needs it.

Wholeheartedly agreed. However, I'm not really in a position to add a lot of features right now, I'm mainly trying to knock out bugs that get in the way of the current features.

Select the arrow tool.
Hold ALT to show the points.
Modify existing points or click on a line to create a new point.

Are you sure you selected the rectangle before opening the color picker?

After drawing, the drawn rectangle is not selected because you don't have the selection tool active.

I'm not seeing that here, but you are using SE1, so it's possible some of the redrawing changes to SE2 could have fixed that issue.

Maybe someone else will chime in here.

CGPost has been updated several times between 1.5.5 and now for stability but not features. That really all I can tell you.

Thanks John,

I've followed your tips on my drawing issues and SE is doing what I wanted. I wasn't aware of the ALT requirement to edit polygon nodes, seems like it was a small detail that's missing from the user guide. But thanks again for the help.

Dr. Perkins,

Fabulous to see you on the SpeedEDIT pages!

Last time we chatted we were talking about making SE able to load & edit AVID captured MXF files. You gave me your FTP data to send you a sample clip. I am sending you a series of 3 files (a short clip of video with it's 2 attendant audio files) called "AVID CAPTURE SAMPLE CLIP" and if you can see any way to reverse engineer their proprietary bastardization of the public domain intended MXF format, I will be happy to tell a LOT of people about it, who only use AVID because they have to.

Best,

Mutley Eugenius :newtek::thumbsup:

Dr. Perkins,

Note that I'm not Dr. Perkins unless "witch doctor" is considered a legal profession in your state.

Those types of things are beyond the scope of this build.

We're trying to clean up the application so that it's more stable and has better performance, so adding features isn't really on the table right now.

I wish I could tell you otherwise, but I'd rather you knew what to expect.

Speededit is quite a mature product, in my opinion it needs minor tweeking to keep it passable.

After cleaning up the software maybe you guys can just make it possible output Sony MXF. Speededit can load it but not write it.

There may well be license issues here but I would pay for this happily.

Speededit is on life support, it would be great to bring it back to life!

Thanks very much for that, I appreciate the two-way communication between us users and someone who really knows what's going on deep within the Hexadecimal realm.

But by all means, fix those crazy Right-Hand Screen issues, the CG stuff, and give us all a new release for Christmas!

Best,
Mutley Eugenius.
