Hi, I'm having a serious issue with using FiberFX in Lightwave 9.6. I'm working on a project with three monkey characters, each with fur on their bodies, but not on their hands, feet, or faces.

I can get fur to show up on two of the monkeys, and I'm really pleased with the way they're turning out. But for some reason, whenever I add fur to the third one it just doesn't work- at all. The hair simply doesn't show up.

I should point out that when I edit the fur settings for this monkey, it asks me for a quantity of hairs, rather than for a density percentage. I can get hair to show up on every other one of his surfaces except the body, and I can't figure out what the problem is.

If anyone has any ideas why this might be happening, it would be an enormous help! Thanks!

Is this happening under final render or in the openGL view during set-up?

If it´s on open GL, go to etc tab and encreese the number of the Scene Edge Limit.
I´m prety shure that it works on the F9 or F10.
When you can, let us see the resoults !

If it asks for "quantity of hairs" that means you applied ffx to 2 point poly chains or some other form of geometry other than the monkey body I think. Possibly you applied ffx to something that you weren't expecting to. Plus make sure everything is named correctly in modeler and that you don't have any unnecessary geometry in your layers.
