Okay,,,when u apply the preset shader, how come it doesnt show the actual color shade to the object,,,,,like for example if u wanted to apply a cowhide texture,,,it doesnt actually show the texture but just the color,,,,,can someone pls tell me if is this natural or its just my video card or something,,,,,,Thanks in advance

Proceedural textures do not show up in real time OpenGL views. Only when you render. If you open your texture window, then open viper, render a frame, and then hit render in the viper window... you can use viper to see the proceedural textures.
