Here are a few pics of my Bosss ME-50 multi-effects guitar processor. Nearly done modeling and I am going to try to attempt photorealism.
Here is a link to the photo of the real deal for you guys to critique my model against:

The real version of this has a butt-load of text and decals which you can see in the above photo link. This is going to be the hard part for me as I have not done any of that nor am I quite sure how to. I Will be back here for help with that portion along with the lights and Digital readout display which I will also attempt and have no clue how.
I've at least learned to model though for the most part!

I like the modeling job! Very cool.
As for the text... Not sure why that would be difficult. Are you ruling out just using that linked image (or preferably a higher quality version) as a texture map for some reason?
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the final product. Good luck.

Very nice modelling job indeed, a tip:
When you're going for photorealism try to bevel as much as possible, just small bevels for all edges.
I learned that this bevelling really helps to get a realistic appearance. When you take a look at every day objects you will see that they never have hard edges.
Good luck with finishing it, am looking forward to see some renders.
Grtzzzzzzzzz...

Nice going so far.
Only one crit. - I don't see why you need to boolean / stencil these objects into the base unit. The items sit on top so the base unit can be a complete object with the rest layed down.
This also allows each control knob to be slighty proud of the surface, as they would be normally, (just remember to model the spindle posts).
As others have said, micro-bevel! Check out the actual unit, those tiny little specular highlights really do sell the realism.
Whacks the poly-count up - but at this level of detail, it's worth it.
As to the text stencilling - yeah, a nightmare innit? ;)

Yeah, I only stenciled because I put the pivot part on the base that the wah pedal rotates on. I stenciled for the buttons, because there is a cut through the button for each one and the button protrudes through which is also how it really is.
The knobs as for the three pedals are just sitting on the base as you mentioned and the knobs are slightly offset with posts as you suggested as well.
Thanks.
Thanks for the tips and replies from everybody.
