Hi,

I seem to remember a pie chart generator for LW sometime ago.
Does anyone know of one that will work in 7.5?

Thanks,

Carl

You know,
that was on the Amiga.
I'm pretty sure it was from Cinegraphics, the same folks that made blowup and shatter.

They're no longer making LW plugs.

Too bad.

wow Dan.

I remember that one too

I have a working flyer. I'll look tomorrow for a gag to see if it is there

How about this

Do you remember the guy who wrote "plugins and go"

The cat's name was Bret hester and he made some crazy stuff.

He had a plugin that would calculate the position of the sun so that if your scene was set in a particular time of the year, the plugin would place your sun there.

I think his real claim to fame is the often abused USA scene with the LW content set

Some of those amiga guys were really creative

but then there was the marketing...................................

This is a little non-sequiter but I am going back to school at DeVry for programming ( I hope to be writing some nice plug-ins for Lightwave in the next few years...watch out for me...) and I was collecting together my old college transcripts and I went to Columbus College of Art and Design about 12 years ago for the first year of college and I realized that I took a computer graphics class and it says Amiga on my grade card. Could I have been working on an early version of Lightwave? That would be so funny....

What you need is a Lightwave export from Excel :)

Thanks all. You know I still have an old Amiga
with it's Toaster sitting in a closet.

Think I'll fire it up for fun. Probably has that
plugin still installed.

Did I mention the Cubs suck?

I know its not a plugin, but why not trace an Excel pie chart in illustrator, then import the EPS in Lightwave and extrude them from there if you have to do it in Lightwave. Although, why not just use the Excel pie charts as they are? Unless you are making some fancy animated Pie chart for whatever reason.

I do have to make it animated and run some
effects on it. I just remember that plugin
being quick and useful. I ended up using
the pie generator in Illustrator and importing
that. Works, just not as cool.

I bet it's not too hard to write an LScript for something like this.

I don't really program, so maybe it's something someone should look into.

Cool idea.

wow, the mighty Dan Ablan surfs the Newtek forums? Cool. I have a bunch of your VHS Videos for LW 6.5 and both of your Inside Lightwave books (6 & 7).
