7.5c on OSX 10.2.8

:mad: I use an iMac 400mhz with 680mb ram. I can use LW 7.5 just fine. Layout works in 7.5c but not Modeler. I crashes at the click of the mouse on the icon. Just forget OS 9.anything and 7.5c.
Does NewTek even know or care that there is a problem? I've read a lot of posts describing issues with all sorts of computer configurations but no replies from NewTek saying they are on it. Is there going to be a fix or not!

Modeler crashes upon launch.
This occurs on G3 based machines, or ATI graphics cards or some combination of the two. I cannot verify if it is all G3 machines or all ATI cards. I have tested two significantly different combinations. I have used the same installer that was successful on a G4 desktop. There is no workaround."

There are about 50 reported bugs in that thread, if you gave them 1 week per bug it would take a year. They have to prioritize, and I can't imagine that working on G3's is a high priority -

There is a bug fix from ATI, you could try that.

Just stick with 7.5 since it works for you. 7.5c seems to run fine under my PB 1ghz config since the ATI hotfix.

There really isn't anything you need perse in 7.5c, so just stick with what works in the meantime.

But by all means, email those bug reports in to the dev team.

:mad: I'll try the ATI fix. As for the other comment, gee, I'm sorry I only use a G3. It's nice to hear that, in the eyes of some, we G3 users don't rate the same attention as they do.

I don't think Toby ment that remark in a malicious way...

But why did you update in the first place anyway?
If it ain't broke, dont' fix it...And that rule goes double when applied to software...

Just reinstall LW...

DBMiller, I've been running 7.5 on all my machines, even though 7.5c is out. 7.5c broke as many things as it fixed, and most of the fixes were in plugins I could add to 7.5. That included both my G3s. There is no real benefit to running 7.5c. The benefit to 7.5c is to get the plugins that it installs, to add to a standard 7.5 version. That way everything works pretty well.
