Hi there,
I want to do some realistic clothing things.. I have a model, but before I start modeling the clothes, I want to know what to do before I have to restart. How do I make clothes automatically interact with the body?
Are there tutorials about this?
Thanx

You should Check out MD Controller, It Is not the easiest task + you have to do A lot of testing on the fabrics Properties, And As I was saying on the Truth Subject, If you have a Week Machine, you will suffer when LW start to do it's Calculations...
.....Good Luck....
I would Use other Ways With Bones And Expressions If you are good at it, Thats is the most used way in the industry..:p

Yeah, I played with Motion Designer once and its so painfully slow doing the calculations, I quickly gave up on it. Sometimes animating things manually (with bones and/or expressions) is the best way to do it.

Well, if you do not want to use MD then your out of luck as that is the only soft body tool that lightwave comes with. There might be some 3rd party tools but then you would have to pay for it.

Well Khalid, sometimes on these forums you don't know how experienced a user is.. I've some experience, and have done some professional work, but not much.. I'm just starting to learn LW.. And it starts to work out fine now.. There are far more experienced people around here.. So, what I try to say is.. If I in one way or another gave you the impression that you don't have experience in 3D.. It wasn't ment to :D
Maybe I should post some work some time to show who I am..

Ge4-ce,
No need To apologize, I would love to help you and others, when I can... We are all in the same boat. The key is not to give up. LW is the best solution for your work, but it will tack some time to master this great tool!!
My Final Advice For Using MD & other LW features, Is the testing, Spent A Lot of Time Testing...A lot Of People Wait Until they Get the Job To start Testing, Don't Be one of those!!!
I appreciate your Answer on the other Subject, Even if You have Just Started.... It was A valuable Info.
All the Best...Try Try Try Again :D

Well.. Just started is not really true.. :) I'm in this business for 4 years.. and into graphics in 2D for almost 10 years.. But Now, the last 2 years I'm getting agressively interested in using LW,.. And it is nice! But there's always a new chapter in LW! That's the problem (and the solution also) what I'm trying to say is.. You can be a heck of a modeler! or you can create beautiful animations with a good IK setup. But at the same time you can have NO experience with Motion designer. That's why I love these forums.. It's like the Guy I know who makes his 2D drawn animations still on "TAKE 2" on the AMIGA.. (I use it also for linetests) and he used it for 15 years!! And for grabbing he always used the mousebutton to click on "grab".. Until I did some linetesting on his amiga, agressively puching the "enter" button on the keyboard to grab. he was like: "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!" like if I was ruining his amiga :) In 15 years he never used the enter button to grab.. So There are still a lot of 'chapters' I have to learn in LW which are: Particles, MD, good IK setup. On the other hand, Modeling, Surfacing and envirement + lighting and animating are going just fine!

Well as you said LW is a never ending source, As much as you Learn, You will always find other things Piled up in line... So good luck with you exploration!! & don't forget that this forum will always help when you get stuck somewhere in you work, Most of the LW users Are pretty helpful to others & they will support, Rarely you will find negativity....
Wish you Luck Bro :D

Hi
3d world magazine issue 41 (august 2003) has a really good tutorial about this by Bill Flemming it uses as nerdyguy suggests endomorphs. Perhaps you could get a back issue? www.3dworldmag.com
