Hello
We’re trying to create some sets in Photoshop but have come across a problem
A black line (artefact) appears on all sets if we try and move the camera, this does not happen on a static shot (please see attached jpegs)
No amount of cropping or alterations in Photoshop or the Tricaster change the situation
Not only does the black line appear but “input A” is also raised breaking the illusion of the reflection on the floor as again no amount of tweaking will fill the gap
Please help asap as we have clients waiting for custom sets, if you’d like the Photoshop or Tricaster files please let me know
Regards
Jamie
Have you tried it with magic images instead? You might be able to "pre-crop" the region with the magic image.

I'll take a look at the .psd file if you like:

Hi
I’m 99% convinced it’s not the PSD file as the problem is related to the
camera moving with the animation controls, if you don’t move the camera and have both “start and end” set the same there is no problem
If you set the start as far back as possible and zoom the end all the way in the problem also disappears, but we don’t want to zoom all the way in but somewhere in the middle
Any ideas gratefully received
Cheers

The "magic images" were re-introduced in VSE 1.5. Basically it is a high color-depth EXR file that looks like a color gradient, where each color on the gradient tells VSE how to map pixels to it. That allows you to do rotation, scaling, distortion, warping, etc. all inside Photoshop before you get the PSD file into VSE. I can't remember exactly where the file gets dropped into on the TriCaster itself but the manual might specify.

Hi
We tried the "magic image" and changing the psd to 16bit but the problem persists
Annoyingly the problem occurs only when animating the camera in VSE, if you zoom from the farest to nearest point the problem goes away, but this is not what we want to do
Any more ideas gratefully recieved

Ok
All sorted the fix is to reduce the "Input A and B" size within VSE by a few percent
Many thanks for everyone that helped (although NewTek were very radio silent)

Well better late than never but its not a black line but rather a repeat of the subject being keyed. That is why it also moves when the subject moves. I have found 7-10 pixels cropped off seems to always work for me.
As a FYI, it also comes up in the B input but since most times the B is covered by a monitor bezel, it does not come up as much.
Take care,
