A simulation I´ve been working on.... Not quite right yet, those bright yellow spots are anoying...

I want this big explosion... alot of fire... hmmm...

Any crit would be nice... :)

Have you tried to use the parent emitter effect? It will give you arms of smoke or fire shooting out of the explosion like an anime style explosion. Those look really cool. Look at Final Fantasy or Episode II to see really great examples of it.

you might want to make the explosion more illuminating... see it like a bright FLASH!

it only has some yellow/red borders around it.

Sorry... havn´t been able to do much more on that simulation...

I´ve added a bright volumetric light that starts of the animation (like a slow strobe). The particles travels through the volumetric light, towards the camera. At the same time, the light fades slowly... (erhm... the volumetric one...yes).. :)

I will post an anim later when I´ve rendered it out. Takes time because I´m using alot of particles and the volumetrics have 500mm density. :) And, I have some other things to render first... :)

Now.... time for bed..
