Cached Radiosity

Hey all, Im rendering an outdoor scene with skytracer 2 as my backdrop illumination and I'm trying to use the cached radiosty feature... what I'd like to know is if it's supposed to speed up my render times? it doesnt seem to, does it carry the cache from frame to frame? or is the cache only useful in AA passes? right now if anything it seems to shave around a half a second off the subsequent frames..

I noticed the same thing. It may be that when the camera moves or sees new objects it needs to recalculate.

You can save a lot of render time if you use an image for the sky instead of skytracer, an image you can make with skytracer or a real photo, and even make it work like an hdri. If you're interested I'll explain -
