I've nearly finished this PAD (is nearly a copy of my Saitek pad, with a series of changes I didn't like from the original, so they are improvements rather than errors :D)

This is a simple render

This is a fast radiosity solution which will need more tweaking (I have simply restricted previous lights for specular purposes, adding a lighting imageworld environment, non hdri)

I know more antialiasing is needed 8this was only a test)
. As you'll see, I didn't use Shading noise reduction, I prefer increasing radiosity samplings, since a little of grain doesn't dislike me along, and my Athlon 1400 doesn't like going to sleep

However, I don't like the Jetto logo aspect, nor the right led. They are supossed to be illuminated, but lack the real feel they should have. I tried giving a bit of glow but never...!!! Please, any suggestions are welcome.

For the interested, I have in mind writting a full tutorial with his history (I've more than 190 screenshots done, with comments). I hope I could get the free time needed.

Hell Yeah!
I for one am extremely excited about this tutorial! It looks like it will rock as much as your Lscripts.

I tried a game pad quite a few months back and gave up. I was attempting it with splines since it was a very funky curved pad.

Is there an estimated time on when it will be done? Maybe you can just send me those 190 screenshots until then?

Now hurry up and finish that tutorial.

I can't say exactlywhen will be finished, but I think that a couple of weeks will be more than sufficient, perhaps one.

Ah, no splines in my model, only polygonal stuff and a little of Jettobevel, of course :D

Until then, you'll have to wait (Sorry, no picts pre-release at the moment  )

I want make my model lights seem lights!!!:(

Will you also cover how you put all of the text on it as well?
PLEEEEASE!

Thanks.

I think that including the text is the most easy stuff on my (on going 20% ;D) tutorial, since they are simply image maps. I won't explain in detail how to paint them (although a copy of all the maps will be supplied). What I will explain is how to configure the different texture layers in order to get this result.

The rendering part also will be very short and simple. This tutorial will be focusing mostly on modeling and texturing.

But you'll have to wait a little... :P

Add a little glow to your lights (LED) and perhaps raise the luminosity for that surface... Finally, make sure color hightlights is on as well for that surface...
