transformers - big robots!

hi, im fairly new to lightwave and i really want to model up a big robot similair (or exactly) like a transformer. can anyone suggest a method that would lend it self to this kind of job or a tutorial for a basic to intermediate robot. remembering that any methds that are too in depth could be a bit too much for me at this point. any and ALL help will be met with much priase. thanks in advance - dave

i'd suggest you search the web for tutorials. there's lots of mechfans, you know :)

Try to find some images to use as backdrops to model over. That's the way it's done in the industry, don't try to 'wing it' like I did :) . Don't be afraid to use someone else's design when you're just learning.

And you should probably do something simple before you do the one that you really want to look good.
