plug-in failed to start

I'm getting this error on a number of buttons in Layout. For example: Modify/Tools/Sliders and Modify/Tools/Spline Control.

Where should I look to solve this? Thanks.

1) Scan you plugins folder.
2) Reload you menu configuration, if buttons didn't work after step 1.

Or if you have little or no customization, just delete the LW config files and LW should reset itself on next startup.

Scanning doesn't help (unless I'm doing it wrong.)

The only config files I can find are the workspace XML files. What should I be looking for?

Uhm...

I didn't care to look at exactly what plugins didn't work for you, because you mentioned "a number of". Sliders and SplineControl. Both of these rely on a custom object and displacement plugin, respectively, to be applied to an object. Apply those plugins first (if you got them installed properly). Then try to run the tools (ie click the buttons with the object selected).

Was it only those two or more buttons that didn't work?
Are you just pressing buttons at random?

I was, to some extent, 'pushing buttons at random.' :) I'll note more carefully what fails and when.
