Unofficially forwarded from work:
"Rhythm & Hues has immediate openings for Lightwave Generalists to work in their Commercials Division . Please submit your website and resume to: recruitment@rhythm.com (Please ensure that the subject line of your email states, "Lightwave Generalist & your name" If there is an interest, we will be in touch immediately."
We're also looking for Lightwave lighters and skilled Fusion artists. BTW, even though it says 'website and resume' I think we still accept physical reels too. Good luck!

Hey GreenLaw, you might also want to post this over in the jobs section at www.liberty3d.com - several recruiters are scanning that forum now as well as people looking for work.

We are also in need of good Fx artists, if you have experience with Hypervoxels, hardfx, particles and animated textures please send your reels in as well. You can PM me if you have something online I can look at.
I'm looking for effects along the lines of Battlestar.
Thanks

I spoke to my supervisor about the idea of working with people remotely, the problem is that our jobs have very strict NDA's so it's up to the company to decide whether or not they can accommodate someone not able to be here. If they will allow it, I'll let you all know.

Yeah i fully understand, those NDAs can be a bi..h sometime. I have dozens of those in my drawer which NEVER expire so although I finished work 4-5 years ago i can't show it anyway :(.

If your 720p stuff looks good that would be fine.

JM already snubbed me. :) I'm too decrepit for the whizbangery of Le Boite. But it was just never the same there for me after the Korean, bank cafe closure. Sorry to wax depresstalgic.

Wow, I think you just created the first smiley movie ever.
And it was more entertaining than any 'Hollywood blockbuster' I've seen too. ;)

Thanks Den, its all about hope, betrayal and ultimate despair. Is at least more entertaining than Suckerpunch. Its all digital backlot, using primarily stock emoticons (some consider using premades as 'cheating') and vBulletin v3.8.2, and took me nearly 15 seconds to complete. Here's the making of :hijack:

I like the sound of this , and back on topic : Extracted from http://www.escapestudios.co.uk/rhythm-and-hues-effects-apprentice-program/
The R&H Apprentice Program is designed to give participants the opportunity to gain valuable production experience and the chance to work with a talented group of dedicated professionals in a collaborative, energetic environment. This program is designed to identify candidates who may be suitable for entry-level Technical Director positions in our studio. Ideal participants will be recently graduated artists and technical people with superior skills and potential.
The Effects Apprentice Program will be 3 weeks in duration with the first half consisting of training, the second half on a simulated production, and ending with an evaluation. They will be looking for your attention to visual detail. You will work with their best artists and supervisors to learn how they create images through a combination of formal classroom instruction and informal collaboration. You will be using Houdini as well as being trained on their in-house proprietary simulation and rendering tools. While some participants may be extended as long-term freelance artists after evaluation, participation in the R&H Apprentice Program does not guarantee employment within the company. This is a paid apprentice program. Housing is supplied for out of town apprentices. Online Submissions are preferred but not required. If you know of anyone who wants to apply, please have them visit their website here.
Deadline for the Applications is May 6th 2011.
