Had a very similar scenen (of wich lw-bugs@newtek.com was uable to replicate the crash )before. But this one crashes on F10 and F9 reder when using cached Monte Carlo. (Dont forget to redirect for the cache file or just bake a new one)

LightWave 2067 (Win64) EDIT: It crashes at the first frame

LW9.6 works just fine

Crashes on Mac Mini & W5580. I also tried "Triple" polys on the USB, on the PC & it still crashes.

Just downloaded your stuff, extracted and loaded the scene called turbo_squid_USB_A_male_pscb.lws

Hit F9, no crash, rendered just perfectly. 2m 33s

Now, regarding MonteCarlo Cachefiles,

First of all, you shouldn't need to use Animated Cache, since the object is static and the only thing moving is the camera. A cache without Animation checkbox is sufficient in this partular case (however, your original scene might not be such though).

Secondly, this scene does not crash when caching using Animated Radiosity caching, which is something I was surprised at; I have seen alot of crashing when baking alot more complex scenes in LW10 (Monte Carlo and BG GI with Animated Cache enabled), where LW9.6 just works. I have submitted a bugreport alongisde testcontent about my findings regarding this.

After baking the cache (every 5th frame), I hit F9 at frame 0, LW does indeed crash for me. The funny thing is, even though the usual Windows crash reporter pops up, LW continues to render the image. It does that and reach 100%, but then nothing. Apparently, Image viewer can't open because LW has indeed crashed, but the renderengine didn't. :)

So, I reloaded the scene and created a new Cache, this time, using the exact same settings, except that I ticked off Animation Cache. This time, everything works as expected.

Bottom line here is that there is something fishy going on with Monte Carlo GI-cache when enabling Animation checkbox. Not just that, but when using Background GI with animated cache, it just doesn't work properly. So, currenlty, Animated Cache seems to not work properly or at all, no mattter if you use Background GI or Monte Carlo, in LW10 that is.

In any case, what I've done here is to take your example scene, baked a Monte Carlo GI cache without Animation Cache checked and raised your 5 frame step to 24 frames instead (meaning that the cache is only calculated for every 1 second instead of every 5:th frame, which makes it a lot faster). Due to timeconstraints, I decided to lower the resolution to 25% of the original before baking the cache. I have attached the result as a mov file.
