Hi i need help with rigging a necklace for a character i'm animating.
The necklace needs to be animated manually and the cord needs to stay in place around his neck.
I thought about using a 2 point polychain and clothfx as a proxy object, but i'm afraid it won't be stable and doesn't offer me enough control.

How would you guys rig it?

Far from an easy problem to solve in Lightwave. If it's a cartoon style character, I'd try joints and IK Booster - with it you can pin the needed joints and set the collision radius of the other joints. After calculations you can still tune up the resulting animation (to fix any undesired interpenetration) by simply moving the joints around.

FXMetaLink+ClothFX won't be good for this in my opinion, bear in mind that overlapping cloth sheets are one of the hardest things to simulate, even in SyFlex, but if you're after something more realistic it might be your best shot with standard Lightwave. Try faking the overlapping parts, making them fixed, add some turbulence to its mapped joints, etc.

Thanks. I think i'm gonna try to put something togheter with basic bones and a lot of keyframing.
