problem with LW10

hello i've installed the lw10 trial, but i've a problem, when i want openwith lw10 my 9.6 file i've a error message in LW 10 : can open scene (or object for modeler) unknown file format, but if i open first lw10 and with the menu open the file, it's ok, the file it's open. How i can correct this problem?

The config files should be in these folder if you haven’t changed anything (In my case “J” is the user in my situation).

LWEXT10-64.CFG
LW10-64.CFG
C:\Documents and Settings\J\.NewTek\LightWave\10.0

LWEXT9-64.CFG
LW9.CFG
C:\Documents and Settings\J


You may also need to scan for plug-ins “alt-f11”

Just solved this one:


Okay... I should have gone and fixed it first... but I've done it now!! Not particularly straight forward though.

Can't do it easily without a bit of software called "Types", although obviously can with Regedit, but it's a minefield in there really.



Download 'Types' to edit file associations:
http://izt.name/soft/types/


Then find the Lightwave .lws and .lwo


All you have to do is double-click to edit them, go to 'actions' then choose the 'open' from the list below.

Then, the magic is going to the end of the string and where it says %1, you have to make sure it has inverted commas around it. Like this "%1"


Do this for both .lws and .lwo and you'll be all fixed! I'm amazed no one else has had this issue before!?
