Goodevening to y'all guess this is my first time up here, and though i'm not an expert modeler it would be great to hear critique from what i've done so far, it's supposed to be (or should become at least) a young boy with a bit rat-ish looks.

Not much done yet, but i'd like to hear your thoughts for improvement.

sorry I know it's a really really early stage model, but i'm suffering from a lack of imagination.. so if i've not even met up to the "standard" of the wip forum, then i'll beg my pardon and continue on the model in silence... *cries a bit also* :)

You could go in different directions with this guy since it's still in early development.

... Something about the mouth/nost/whatever makes me think it would be cool if my turned this into a hidious rat creature. I'd love to see a really demented man-baby with greasy hair and sharp teeth come out of this, but hey, that's just me. Good luck with whatever happens.

Be careful about six- and five-poly-sharing points. They`re almost impossible to avoid, but you can sneak them off into inconspicuous parts of the model. I`m saying, clean up the nose bridge, for starters and think about addressing the six-poly group on the brow. If you want to animate wrinkles you`ll run into problems with the current poly arrangement.

Then, it would be nicer if you put more polys in the corners of the mouth. When the character screams and shouts, the extra polys will prove useful.

Welcome to the forum and all the best,

Rory

renderingfarmer: I'll defenitely keep that in mind.. just got this thing about making him blind due to some accident as an infant, that's why he's turned out with facial deformations.. but we'll see.. just going to find some spare time

Rory_L: thanks a bunch, that was almost why i put the wip up, cause i wasn't sure whether it would work.. see i've look at it metaformed and it becomes real smooth, but it may lack in animation ease later on ´?
