View Full Version : MDD Pointer - merging MDD's

There used to be a trick using the point offset feature of DPonts MDD Pointer to merge two or more MDD files together. After merging your object, I recall in the node setup having to add an integer to be the same as the new merged objects point count. So in my test I have 4 boxes on 4 layers and a merged box on layer 5. I have created an MDD for each box and using an add 4 node merged them together. Then added an offset of 0, 8, 16, 24 to each MDD. But if I connect all this to the displacement node Lightwave crashes. I think I must be forgetting something here - anyone know how this should work?

If included my test scene for anyone who can help - cheers!

"Point Offset" input was broken in MDD, MCC and PC2 Pointer nodes
since the last major improvement in these nodes.

Oh that's a shame - would have been useful for tidying up imported dynamics.

Your scene is working properly here,
...with the fixed version.

Has anyone tested this in 64 bit? All I get is a message that the plugin failed to start.

this is in LW 9.0, win7.

Working fine here in 64 bit LW10

Hmm.

I wonder if the latest update doesn't work in 9.0, or if this is another download problem?

May be if you already removed/readded the plugin,
DPKit is guaranted working in LW 9.0 only with the win32 version,
I can't test myself with the win64 version,
I don't think this has been reported before,
but an incompatibility it is not impossible,
I just know that Marvin doesn't compile anymore with this SDK.
