I created a LogoType for a Non Profit Organisation in San Jose, and they ask me if a bunch of Liquid Can run over the Logo, I got the Logo, put it in Layout, now i am stuck, did anyone knows where i can find a good tutorial on water falling on an object? and ends up laying around the Logo?

Thanx in advance

I am not sure if this would be any help.

I am new to lightwave and have been messing around with hypervoxels and particles. I have recently purchased a dvd from desktop images, "Understanding Hyper Voxels" by Brad Peebler. This gave me a huge jump start on how make liquids. Although all my liquids look very thick, almost like paste. This is something I am trying to workout.

He has a tutorial on pouring mercury and it hits a surface and falls onto another, almost like a waterfall hitting two rocks. The DVD ran close to $50 but I think it was definitely worth it.

I am not sure where you knowledge level of hypervoxels/particles are at but this might be the way to go.

As far having the liquid stay in place, I believe there is a setting where you can set your collision to stick so when the particles hit the object you performed the collision setting to, they will stick to it.

If you find a better way, please let me know.
good luck

evolutionagent, first of all why the mad face? Try reading the manual, you might calm down some.

Now with that said.

It's actually pretty easy. You use a particle emitter (surfaced with surface hypervoxels) to spray onto the logo. Setup your logo in one layer, your ground object in another layer. Now make each object layer a collision object in the object properties panel(add cutom object:fx collision object) and then adjust your settings.

See this thread for ideas on surfacing your liquid:

HOwever now i will start with it, i will try it and let you knew my result...

OK i created my object, i have the emitter running over it, texturing is also ok, but how to i "surface it with hypervoxels"?

Thank you

The manual makes a great pillow too. You'd be suprised at what you can pick up via osmosis. ;)

lol... i used dan ablans 'inside lightwave' as a pillow and osmosis works great! just start reading, and when waking up in the morning, you will be suprised by what you know ;) for the thick liquids, i solved that creating much more particles (say ten times more) and sizing the hypervoxels down (say ten times smaller)... great processor is recommended tho... ;)
