I've been trying to get that look for ever, unsuccesfully thus far.
As for you image here, I'd say it's just a tad too bright. I'm looking at a DVD case here (The Rock, if you're wondering) and I think the daily wear and tear dampens the look over time. Your cover looks like it was just pressed and came out of the assembly line, which none of us ever get to see.

Very cool though. Would you give us some hints as to how you did it? I'd, for one, be very thankful.

Looks great to me.

I'd say that you're pretty much done, besides adding the seam and tweaking the spec on the clear cover.

Other than that, if you wanna get REAL finicky, you could shift the hue on the render a little bit and it would be pretty much bang on.

And that would only apply if you're mixing it in with a shot of real boxes. :)

this is going to be used for a dvd display stand so you won't really see the seams....i will revisit the model to make a working opening dvd case when time allows also i'll add the dvd disc as well...and a player/t.v...all in good time!

thanks for the feedback..lightwave sure does deliver cool renders.
