Thanks sKb875, its stil far from finished but im pleased wiht the progress. The front body kit is pretty common for the RX-8 and the side and back are from my imagination. neways peace out

thanks fro the comments skb875, nah i didnt really used splines i sorta just builr one polygon and used the extender tool to make up the rest of the car, similar to what you would probably use to make a human face.

PS: heres a rough render of the interior. nuthinf fancy

wow ! awesome work ! what technique are you using and have you modeled other cars, how long have you used Lw for ?... what's with that ugly spoiler though ?? i hate those things they look so cheezy; i've seen it on a dodge neon !! that's pathetic.. awesome model :)

Hi !

OK modle it looks ver very good but needs soem modleig detials corrected or reshaped. Look at bootom where side skirts meet doors - it's very curvy and dented ins oem areas and also i se hole between that - you need to align points more equaly. Also area where rear bumper meets tail lights have soem error on that edge. YOu need to make osme esges more sharper - bandsaw them near edge and it will be fine.

For material you need a lot more work but you need environment - no material looks good in black room wihtout image to reflect on car ;).

hey

Lewis Thanks for the coment bout the model, im still working on correcting things (it never ends.) As for the door ive tried to fix it but i cant see whats wrong anymore so im guessing i sucseded. Yeah and im not the best and surfacing and texture for cars. I know i nedd an enviroment but can think what to put the car in. Anyone got some suggestions.

Bolo Thanks mate, im using the technique i mentioned before by making one polygon and working my way out from that using extender. For finer details i used bansaw and stensil to get the shape and bevel and smooth**** to make creases and doorlines etc. I have modeled one other car a Lexus is200 it came out ok but i never really fully finished it off. And ive had lightwave about 9 months and have just been teaching myself in my spare time (in between homework, sport, X-box, the best console every might i add, and trying to keep a social life.) And as for the spoiler everyone for them selves, i like it but thats just me.

daveythegravy73 I metioned the techniques i used above, and idd love to see your car, can u post a pic, im not sure which tut that is but there is a good one i think of a nissan z on this site, have a look around. Ill post some rough wireframes below.

first of all: this is one hell of a car! really good details for what i can see :D i just have one mark about the ... the... damn my english sucks... i made a screenshot and put a red circle around it... it looks to 2D to me, like it's just a 2-sided cylinder

si_kick

Yeah thanks iluvatar i see what you mean about the exhaust but it is done properly it just looks like its a two sided cylinder, i think its coz it was tabbed im not sure, thanks though. I think its alright in this render. Its a new render from the rear veiw.

aah yes the exhaust, that's what it's calles :p it's not a 2sided cylinder i see, but are they really so thin? i'm not a car-specialist so tell me if they are! i just have to put a questionmark on the shadows / reflections on the car... look a bit strange, not really 'smooth', like the geometry is not completely smooth where the shadows / reflections fall or something (check the place where the licence plate would be). i love those lights btw!! :D really very good!!
