Hello,

Does anyone know why TMPGENC sets it's base priority to low?

I talked with their tech. support but they could not give me a good answer.

I always set it to high in WXP task manager but it just goes back down to low unless i keep task manager active and in the forground.

It doesn't matter unless you try to run other programs with it.

When MPEG encoding, you should just do MPEG encoding for maximum efficiency.

Ok,

It does matter!

I tripped over my own stupidity... by not recognizing that under the options menu there is a task priority option that allows you to set the priority for when the program is in the foreground and in the background.

The default is normal for foreground and low for background.

I set both to high. Now it kicks butt!
