Optimal File Format for DDR

I got caught with my pants down ! Due to some (artificial) time constraints (I had to start streaming early), I needed to edit some interviews while I was streaming. This precluded using the Edit Media function on the TC.

So connecting my laptop to the TC, using FireWire cable, I edited the interviews in Easy Media Creator (Roxio) and saved the files. Dumped to the TC over the FireWire cable. Unfortunately the TC wouldn't read the files.

What format should I be saving these files in (using Easy Media Creator) so that I can load them on the DDR and play them?

I've generally had the best luck with SD generic mpeg-2's with the .mpg extension ,not m2v (you can rename m2vsto mpg).
