Objects from Beziers

I am having peculiar diffculty getting a closed object from a bezier curve.

I have some steel mounting plates with a strange die cut shape to them. They are to be approx 1/2 " in thickness. I have drawn one with Bezier curves, but when I try to Extrude them the only surfacing I can get is the inside or outside edge ... not the main face.

This is normal behavior. If there's no face there to begin with (just curves), Extruding those curves is not going to automatically cap it. You need to select the points on the curves (in order), and then make a polygon out of that. With the face selected, then extrude and you'll get what you're looking for.

Freezing is a quick way to create a Face, though you might need to watch the Res.
