Hi all, not the most original of first posts I know, but it is about time I posted something rather than lurking my entire life.

http://members.lycos.co.uk/petelakeuk/WIP_Renders/Render_220903.jpg

Only a few hours worth of work, so plenty to do. The eyes are a little blood-shot, anyone know how I can fade a procedural texture off towards the pupil?

The skin is based on this - http://www.richardnsmith.com/pages/tutorial/tutorial.htm
with a few tweaks and other layers thrown in for good measure.

Crits welcome, I'll update as soon as I find time to work some more.

You can use the `Dots` procedural as an alpha! One dot over each eyeball, flat mapped on the Z.

Thanks for the replys, I've finally managed to spend a little more time on him. Mainly on the surface, little ear tweaking and I got rather distracted on a facial rig (not featured here ;-)

anyway, what do you think.. improving?

Next stop, the lips need a little colour and I want to try some hair.. oh and maybe some eyebrows...

Try a faint fractal in the colour chanel, blending the colour biases of the two images you`ve posted. If you break up the skin tone between the bluey one of the second pic and the orange one of the first it`ll look more realistic.

That's an interesting model with some character. Looks like some russian criminal to me :)

One thing that bothers a little are lip corners. They should be more inside IMO, atm his lips looks like swollen a bit. Everything else looks ok (except ears of course).
