Whenever I want to use the search in the scene editor, that list explodes and all channels become visible. I hate that.
Is there a way to search only for items (Filter:enable channel filter didn't work out)? I don't want to see the channels.
And if the channels got activated, is there a key to deacticvate it?
Right now I have to select all items and do a rmb->collapse channels (recursive).

Thanks!

There's an Item filter too. You might want to use that instead....

Thanks Dodgy, in fact it was the "enable channel filter" thingy, but you had to go into the options and untick all channels from that menu. And yet it doesn't prevent bones, morphs and other special channels to pop into the list (and therefor clutter it).
Search is not well implemented.

Sorry, you said you didn't want to see the channels, you just wanted to see particular items, in which case don't enable Channel filters, just enable Item filters and then use that to filter out bones etc.

True, but the complete hierachy gets unfolded, even when the item I search is at top level. And even with all filters applied, you still get special channels showing up (though that particular box is unticked). Awkward channels like morphgroup, time lag etc...
Open a more complex scene of yours and try the search. I hope that gets better with core. Unity 3 has a nice item search.

I like that it's interactive and lets you zero out the search box with one click.
