Strange artifacts in my render

On the right side of the creature on the image, there is an "echo" of the spine flying in the smoke. (the dark spikes)

Can anybody tell me where does the strange artifacts could come from ?

I have joined an image.

PS : I have rendered the image using a skydome with 24 spotlights, and 2 main spotlights.
The creature was bent using splinamate.

The smoke is basic emitter with hypervoxels sprites set on 1 slice.


Can anybody help ?

switch off raytrace shadows and see if they go if they do then something will need recieve shadows switched off.

I solved the problem this way :

The light used for the hypervoxels was also used for the model.

So I created a spotlight only lighting the hypervoxels and excluded them from the other spotlight.

But I'll try your way cause adding lights increases render times...

While not something you might not think you would see, somke will take shadows in real life, and in LW. So I would not call it an artifact but an unwanted effect. Glade you got what you want thou.
