Ok, I modeled a character, a cyclops to be exact. I rigged the model with weight maps and I have a separate bone and weight map for the eye (singular...)

Now, I got the eye to track a target correctly so I can have the eye look around. However, when I move the head, the eye Doesn't Move?! In essence, the eye becomes disjointed form the model and floats in space.

The eye is on the same layer as the rest of the model so I have no idea why the eye would not move when the rest of the model does.

Thanks.

It sounds like maybe you have use weight map only option on on the head bone, make sure the bone for the eye is parented to the head bone.
I would have the eye on a different layer and then simply parent it to the head bone. (parent in place should be on) That way your eye can have its own pivot assigned in modeler.

ya the problem is the weightmap isn't letting any other bones effect it. The other problem you might face if you've got the bone parented properly is that as you move the head bone the face deforms slightly, and the eye dosen't fit quite right anymore. If you've got that problem tightening the face up with a weightmap or an extra hold bone over the eyes would help.
