So... I had a picture of me acting stupid in front of the camera, and I thought it would be cool to turn me into an ugly looking ghoul (moreso than I am normally, lol)
I created a rough model of my head in LW so that when it came to doing the textures, rather than just overlaying in Photoshop I mapped them onto the model - and then imported the render into PS and used blending modes to then overlay onto the photograph. Followed by heaps of brush work.
No real reason for doing this other than following a fun looking tutorial I found on the web to improve my PS skills.
I'm really happy with it but any suggestions for improvement most welcome.

Cool....I would make the teeth bigger and more crooked. Also, try one with the eyes included....or maybe one eyeball popping out...looks like fun...hehe.

How about this for the teeth? Definately makes him look more menacing!

Interesting idea :)
I hope you don't mind me doing so, but I've taken a shot at the last picture to see where things could be improved, instead of justing it typing out. Open the attachment to see the result :)
The main problem I have with your version is that it all looks very flat. There has been little or no use of shadows at all. This is supposed to be a dark image, it should convey a scary feeling, yet it doesn't. The broken glass, the head itself, the shoulders, they all should cast shadows on each other. This point alone would sell the image a lot more.
The facetexture while sort of undead looking appears dull. It can be spiced up a lot more. (I used clouds filter here to add more details and coloring, plus noise, also I thought a yellow/brown skin would be more appropriate here)
The head should be the point of interest. However, right now the white text is taking away all the focus. I didn't have a proper font to use and my version certainly isn't the best example either, but at least make it so that it doesn't hit you in the face.
I assume the teeth were just there as a test and not given much thought, so here's how to incorporate it in the image. Use Hue/saturation and a little blur. That's 90% of the work. Then cover up the sharp edge either by removing some pixels or using the clone stamp to copy/paste some parts over it. And here too, use shadows to make a smooth transition between the head and the teeth image.
Two other things that help sell the image.
Eyes, they are so much creepier with a little flicker, don't you think :)
Lips. I made them black/dark blue for two purposes. Not only does it help incorporate the teeth picture, it looks better as a whole too.
Ok, I hope you find this of some use :)

Hey Traveler, that is brilliant feedback - thanks very much
The eyes are a fantastic touch. I also see what you mean by shadows as well.
