I am seeing a pattern that seems to be associated to SE2. I drop a raw file onto the timeline from a Panasonic 150 camera and since the files are chopped up into pieces, at the end of each file, there are two frames that are black. I dropped these same files in Vegas and they are there. These are not just 2 extra frames added, they are frames that are converted to black. The video was shot with the 1080i format and the project size is DV 720 X 480 and the same thing happens with a 1080i project as well. Even if I convert them to the SpeedEDIT HQ format, they still exist. Any ideas if this is just the way that SE is looking at the file and if so, any workarounds or preference settings?

I have the same problem with MP4 files from EX-1 in SE 2.0: at the end of every file there are 6 black frames, first 2 of them with audio, the rest 4 - silent... Long clips chopped into pieces cannot be merged back together on SE 2.0 timeline, to compare with other NLEs, like Vegas, Edius, Premiere, where it is no problem...
So, you have to place these pieces on a timeline butt to butt in other NLE (like Edius) and render as one continuous file, and then bring it to SE for editing... Or just continue editing with Edius...

Has anyone seen these files with the complete audio. Even in Vegas, I get about 12 frames of blank audio. Has anyone gotten around this situation?

Yes they can, you can selec them all and make a subproject out of them in one click.
Or you can drag the end of the first back to the full length...
...alter the length in properties...

No, they can't... we are talking about AVCHD and MP4 (EX1/EX3) file chunks of long (over 4GB limit of FAT32-formatted cards) clips here, they are full length... After placing them butt to butt on a timeline and playing them back you can see/hear black/silent gaps... Subproject has nothing to do with it, sorry...
