Loading object question??

Hiya

Does anybody know if there is some sort of a plug-in to visalise the object in layout before actually loading it? I think I saw it somewhere, maybe someone can help me with it

if only we had the whole list of the layers's names
we can check one by one instead of those silly numbers !!
