Audio Waveform not appearing

Hey guys,
I just installed SpeedEdit 2 on my Windows 7 (32-bit) PC. I've thrown HD and SD footage on the timeline with the same results - no audio waveform. I've tried opening new projects and letting a new waveform conform, but after it finishes conforming there is nothing there to indicate the pattern. The audio plays fine and is in sync, but it's driving me :ohmy: not being able to see the audio.

I just played around with it some more. Apparently, .mov files will show the waveform, but not files with .avi or .m2t extensions. Weirdness.

In the preference menu, the last item at the bottom of the list.

Direct show AC3/AA3, is this enabled?

You may need to enable this for certain types of m2t and mov to work.

Sorry Pete, I just tried switching that option to Enable, but no dice

A quick call to Newtek Tech support seems in order. They may have the answer.
