View Full Version : controlling motion blur
hi guys can I apply motion blur to juts a few objects in a scene?
I’m going to set the camera up in 4 locations and let the scene render over night but I only want the motion blur to apply to moving objects in the scene and not the movement of the camera.
thanks lude
Motion blur affects anything that moves, whether it's an object moving past the camera, or the camera moving itself, so the only way would be to keep the camera still and move just the objects that you want to blur, but that might not be the solution you're after!
sorry just read your post again, if the camera positions are just static, but only move to 'be in a new position' for a shot, then save a copy of the scene for each camera position and set the frames to render just the frames for that camera position, then build the anim afterwards.

if i understand correctly, you want to do a 4 shot of moving obj with motion blur on obj, but not at camera.
open graph editor and setup every key of camera motion with stepped like pre and post behavior, this force lw to move camera directly from one to another frame, but without interpolation of motion, this mean that lw apply motion blur on obj which have an interpolation of motion from keyframe to keyframe, instead of camera which work at step, without interpolation.
have a nice day.
LOL! Totally forgot about that! Yes, that is a much better way of doing it!!!
