Okay, I'm not sure I can describe what I want to achieve in a way that people can understand, but here goes:

You know when you go to the cinema and when you look at the big screen you see that the picture flickers, ie it's not like a TV set where the picture is perfectly still.

Well this is what I want. I have modelled a cinema and I want it to look like it's (the movie clip) being played by a projector.

How can I go about achieving this?

Sorry if this doesn't make sense.

Adrian.

put a preocedural enveloppe to the luminosity...
better to use glow in post too...

U can add a texturefilter to your footage: like a Black Invert Dot, scaled little, to get darken blured border...

and maybe a volumetric light with a fracal smoky texture inside, near the projector...

hmm, domething like that...

hi adrian
very briefly
how about projecting the cinema footage using a light as a projector and switching on volumetric lighting and adding a procedural texture to give your footage the smokey beams from the projector. If you have after fx or combustion or similar then pre post your footage to give it grain and put film weave into it also fade the edges out to white and add some flicker by varying the light intensity. if you have after fx the cinelooks film fx and film damage plug ins are really good

there is a tutorial in lightwave 6.5 magic by Dan Ablan if you get desparate but check out flay and lightwave tutorials on the web I'm sure someone has one out there
