Hello All,

Well, a while back I modeled a troll from lotr and I am just now getting to texture him. I have never seriously sat down to texture anything yet and I thought I better start learning how it is done.

I just figured out with the help of some people how to get the uv map done and before I started painting the textures for the face I would like to ask you if I got enough of the distortion out of the uv's to proceed?

Well there's a little distortion on the side, just behind the ear, but I guess if you're going to use procedurals then you could hide this.

It mostly looks fine to me!

Where did you learn how to do this? Care to point me in the same direction?

Please show us updates - just borrowd The Two Towers from a friend the other day, so I'm in a bit of a LOTR mode!

Adrian.

Hello adrian,

The technique I used for doing my uv map was borrowed from::
