Capturing DV footage from a DSR-11 and after about 30 minutes the capturing stops and Windows crashes.
Plenty of room on hard drive raid, 528 gigs left.

I updated my bios, ASUS P6858D Motherboard and also updated Windows 7 Pro. I was able to capture beyond the 30 mins, I will keep you informed of any other problems.

Hey Rich,
I changed my 1393 driver to the legacy one and it is solid. The new driver was doing some weird things and I read to try the legacy, so I did and it solved my problem.
Just info in case this does not consistently work.
Good luck,

I too have experienced problems capturing from a Sony DSR-V10. Under SE1.55 it would loose lip sync about 20 - 30 minutes into a clip. I had to capture with Vegas instead to avoid the issue.
I was hoping that SE 2 would improve the situation but have found I still have the same problem, even after upgrading to SE 2.
Could this be a 1394 driver problem, as well?

I don't think so but who knows. Once upon a time.. this happened when we used Type II DV but it was fixed at least when I used the DSR-11. But it is easy for you to test Lynn. In SE2, change the recording type from the default of DV Type 2 to DV Type 1. The difference is in the audio and it was a big problem a while back but still could be your problem.
Take care,
