using the Z buffer with the PSD Export?

i know that DFX supports the z buffer in RPF files but what if i want to use the PSD export for control and still want to have control over my Z buffer....is there anyway to tell DFX's Z-buffer Blur to use "image A" as a Z-buffer instead of looking for an embedded z-buffer (i.e. RLA file)?

You can use the Channel Boolean tool to copy an image to the z-buffer. Go to the Aux Channels tab and copy "luminance" (of the PSD's depth channel) to Z-Buffer.
