I bought Lightwave-8 in 2005 for a project I wanted to do but the learning curve was so high I decided to pass. I loaded it back on my machine today thinking I might as well try to learn the program and see if I could put it to some use.

I don’t know if you guys can help since this program is 5 years old but I can not find any pdf manuals with it.

The program came with two Brochures: One for their Production Suite and another showing all the things the program is used for but that was it.

I have these discs:

1) Content Disc 1
2) Content Disc 2
3) Program Disc
4) Third Party Bonus CD
5) Lightwave 101- Interactive Training Course and Curriculum

It has been five years since I looked at it but I believe this was all it came with when I bought it.

I have looked through all of them and can not find a manual. Neither is their one in the install directory that I can see.

Is their a manual somewhere in all of this or did it just not come with one?

I registered the program so if it is available for download I should be able to get it if any of you can tell me where to find it.

The manuals are PDF's that you can print out...that are over a 1000 pages.
We purchased "manuals" with 8.5 and it was double side printed on a LW themed three ring binder. It was kind of unwieldy. Not like the manuals we got with 7.

You are better off just using the HTML help file that is part of your install. If you don't see it on your disks check your "My Downloads" section of the web site where you register your products.

Good Luck

I found it at the bottom of the "My Downloads" Page. Boy you were not kidding- it is 1500 pages long.
Now I know why I gave up the first time I loaded the program.

Lightwave appears to be so complex it makes Photoshop look look like Windows Solitaire by comparison.

Thanks

This was my fault for buying something and not using it for five years.

I appreciate your help.

It Funny- the reason I decided to try again was I came across the Lightwave 101 disc. I thought it was a tutorial disc with videos etc. But looking through it it seemed to more pizazz than fundamental training.

Lots of fundamental training on the Lightwave product section of the Newtek site.

I mean lots and lots.

Good Luck

When I do training at work I whip out the big monster manual of LW 8 and scare the new employees to death with it. But then I go on to explain that we'll only need to use 30% of it or so to do our jobs. Unfortunately with you being on your own, you don't know which pages to yank out and throw away.:D
