I've grown tired of the very limited basic bevel that comes with LW and was wondering if anyone knows if there is a third party plugin with all the features of bevel++ 32bit. (I need a 64bit version, I already emailed the fellow who made it...still waiting for a response)

http://www.softgeometry.jp/lightwave/lightwave3d/bevelpp/

I have been trying out jetto bevel and its good, aside from the 2 second delay after I activate it. However, Bevel++ quickly and easily activates like regular bevel but also does multiple polygons at once as well as merges multiple points in a corner as apposed to create overlaps that you have to fix by hand.

If anyone knows of such a plugin of lscript that can do this I would be very greatful. I know this is a very old plugin and probably old news to many people but just because its old doesn't made it less valuable to eager users like myself.

Cheers LWers:thumbsup:

Maybe you mean Vertibevel?

I purchased it nearly three years ago and I don't see any updates. The 64 bit version had problems integrating with multi-shift and as far as I know, it's never been fixed (it was promised.) Also, we were supposed to get a tutorial DVD with purchase. It was listed under "What you get" for the past couple of years -- not it's "conveniently" removed from the "What you get." And of course the price hasn't dropped a penny.

While the product is good, the developer is dishonest and doesn't deserve support (that's my opinion -- others may disagree.)

Vertibevel is good, but then, so is bevel++ and it's cheaper. That said, I still find VB easier to use graphically. Bevel++ is not as intuitive to me, but it's very powerful nonetheless.

I love bevel++, it would be awesome if he updated it for others, or we had a tool like it for core.

Ya I've seen vertibevel to, UI seemed a bit convoluted for such a simple task, but i'll give it try non the less. ty

The guy responded to my email quite quickly, which is encouraging. Sounds like he might come through with the 64bit version, although not anytime soon. This is what he said:

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in Bevel++.

Bevel++ has used specific codes for x86(32bit) processors.
Now I'm modifying it for x64 processors, but it would still take
considerable time.

Best regards,
