View Full Version : Can I stretch multiple clips that are not aligned?

Is there a way for me to grab multiple clips in the timeline (title clips, in my case) and stretch them all at once?

I've got lots of title clips, stacked on each other in the timeline, fading in and out over each other, and I like the way I've got it sequenced, but I want the whole thing to take a little longer. Is there a way for me to do this without having to stretch and then move each clip separately?

The tool shed gives me an option to select multiple clips and then set the total time - so long as none of them overlap. That's exactly what I want to do, but a bunch of mine overlap.

Am I being clear as mud?

One approach to this would be to make the entire thing a sub-project - then simply hold down ALT and drag the end of the sub-project to taste.

Subs will work, but did you try and Lasso them all, then Alt stretch? You need to zoom in on the timeline, so when your mouse is at the outpoint, it says stretch and not out, then hold Alt and all should drag.

Exactly right Steve but if you are using SE 1, then include any clips that the titles are overlaid over, if any, otherwise they will not show through because no transparency/overlay with groups in SE 1. No problem with SE 2 though and a great new feature Newtek added.

Like Steve, this is the only way I know how to achieve what you want to do.

Good luck,
