this is more like a request... :help:
I would love to have a plugin/script that would:

choice 1
1st. user selects one edge (A) (edges!, not points. it's faster)
2nd. user selects another edge (B) (sharing one vertex with B)
3rd. plugin extends edge A to the other side of B creating a quad with vertices welded.

or the possibility to:

choice 2
1st. user selects one edge (A)
2nd. user selects one or a row of edges (B) (sharing one vertex with B)
3rd. plugin extends edge A to the vertices of edges B creating a quad strip with vertices welded.

tx for reading (and for making the plugin  )

well I just found Speedyquad and it doesn't work with edges or creates rows. It creates one quad like I asked for, but you have to select points, so it's slower to use, and you have to select the 3 points in order (it's obvious) but makes the process slower.

you got to thank to newtek :D

(EDIT: ups... this image is wrong, cause when i tryed it, i had the point already selected and didnt matter what edge selection i had :D so yeah points only.)

Cheers

EDIT: personally i would like that it could do also this

since its 'just' an intersection of those 2 rows and doing it by hand its tedius expecially because of those mid points.

well, create rows (for me) doesn't work with edges...are you holding any secret? ;)

and you have to select points (come on people, work with edges please) in that order (see attachment 2) because if you start with the point on top (nš5 that would create a faster mouse path) it creates the row in attachment 1.

that's why I don't use it. The path isn't logical.

by the way the polygon created using speedy quad doesn't inherit the 'parent' polygons surface.

PS edit: the forums should have a messenger system ahaha

Actually there is a tool that does this. Quadskin http://thespread.faulknermano.com/index2.html

Good Luck zardoz

you might also want to check out James Wilmott's Edge Pack (via LWPlugindb (http://www.lwplugindb.com/Plugin.aspx?id=c5a60f40)). There might be a tool in there that might help.

Here's Proton's video about it :ftp://ftp.newtek.com/multimedia/movies/Edgepack.mov

But there is no 64bit version though (somebody volunteer to convert these...please?). I also often wondered why these tools are not in LW Modeler by now. :)

Oh OK...I was going off on the lwplugindb's category, seems listed as 32bit only.
