Rail Extrude to Nowhere

I am having difficulty getting an object to completely extrude along what I believe is a correctly created path placed in the underlying layer.

This is to create a pipe that extrudes upward, then "snakes" through a 180? curve before ending at a nozzle to be placed on its end.

I am in dire need of help on this one ... thank you for any insights.

You want it to look like the image I posted below right?

The problem you are having is your splines are not connected. Notice on the Rail Extrude controls it says 'Rail Extrude: Multiple'. If you only have one spline and a little different window. To join up your splines, Select all your splines and hit Shift-z. Now you should have one spline and your extrude should follow the whole path.
